The AmWay of Consoles
The Nintendo Wii is truly one of the most revolutionary gaming systems to come down the console pike in a very long time. I don't say this to diminish the ridiculously fantastic graphics on the PS3 or to undermine the remarkably important online play of the XBox 360, these are simply better versions of their previous incarnations.
I personally believe that these systems are probably great, and it is important that they are available to showcase the next generation of more real than real graphix (the x is for Xtreme!), however, it is brilliant to have a different type of system all together available.
The Wii however (even with a juvenile name) has been taken in a completely different direction. It is THE pick up and go system. ANYONE who has never been a video game player before can jump into one of these games. Even your Gramma can shake a stick*. The Wii Sports, Raving Rabids, and Warioware are relatively silly concepts that are just dang fun to play.
Ultimately, the main reason we got a Wii, fell to the party factor. We have taken our Wii to several friends houses and everyone always has a heck of a time...and usually wants to get one for themselves. It's a lot like Amway in that sense.

*no offense to anyone who's gramma cannot shake a stick

I'm jealous of your wii-ness! None to be found here. We ordered one online as a 5th anniversary present to each other and they canceled the order. Now we have another order in online but it said it would take 2 weeks to get to us.
I'm so tired of checking tracking sites. I swear I saw a few wii's at my Target when I wasn't in the market for one.
I can't wait!
